Don’t they say the couple who train together stay together?? CrossFit coach Jason caught girlfriend Tash totally off-guard, popping the question surrounded by family and friends at his own birthday party. Although the couple live in Sydney, they both love the Sunshine Coast where Tash grew up, and there was no doubt the sprawling Novotel Twin Waters Resort would be the venue for their wedding.
Reflecting the fun-loving couple’s passion for being active outdoors, they chose an intimate ceremony by the lagoon and a beach photo session before the formal reception. Tash looked graceful in a beaded lace gown with classic silhouette paired with perennial floral favourites, pale pink roses and baby’s breath. She chose a loose textured side-bun with no veil to show off the lace-up detail on the fitted bodice of her gown. Tash’s four bridesmaids and best friends, wore mushroom convertible wrap dresses, with loosely curled ponytails and natural-toned makeup to complete the look.
As Tash has oily skin, we started with a mattifying preparation spray and oil-control primer (MakeupForEver Step 1 Skin Equalizer) to keep shine to a minimum. I took the foundation to a medium/full coverage using an oil-free formula with a natural and luminous finish (NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation). Then custom-mixed concealer to disguise any remaining imperfections (RCMA VK Palette) and used mineral makeup through the T-zone to further control shine (Kylie’s Professional Mineral Powder Foundation). Tash can be prone to the occasional breakout, but by following the skin fitness regime we devised using Nucerity’s Skincerity nightly mask, her skin was clear and healthy despite some hectic weeks leading up to the wedding day.
The complexion was finished with some cream contour (Hourglass Illume Sheer Colour Trio), a pop of my favourite and perfectly balanced blush (NARS Orgasm) and a dusting of highlight (Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder “Incandescent Light”).
We created a beige base for the eye by pressing a cream shadow from lashline to crease and then blending out (Kylie’s Professional Mineral Transformer with Mineral Shadow “Bark”). I defined the crease and lower lashline with a matte mid-brown eyeshadow (Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar “Mousse”) and added a warmer tone to build colour intensity (Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar “Nougat”). To increase dimension and define the eye, I smoked a black shadow into the upper and lower lashlines (Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar “Licorice”), added my favourite strip lashes (Helen Dowsley Lashes “Beautiful”) and finished with a swipe of black liquid liner (Eye of Horus Liquid Define Liner). To complete the look I pressed light-reflecting shade in the inner corner of the eye (to the lid with shimmer eyeshadow (Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar “Bon Bon”) and a dusting of gold sparkling powder across the lid (Becca Jewel Dust “Aspara”).
Tash chose a dusky pink shade of crème lipstick sealed with rose pink lip gloss which perfectly complemented her tanned skin and the beautiful fresh natural tones of her makeup.
Tash says “Thank you so so much for making my special day extra special. My makeup was unbelievable and my bridesmaid babes looked stunning. Massive thank you for making us all look like princesses. You captured the exact look I wanted for my wedding day. Love love!”
